City of Irvine Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 44th Consecutive Year

The City of Irvine has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“Receiving this award for the 44th consecutive year speaks volumes to the great work accomplished by our Administrative Services Department staff,” said Irvine Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “This award reaffirms our commitment to keeping our taxpayers informed about City finances in a clear, factual, and transparent manner, ensuring we uphold the highest of standards. My appreciation goes to our staff for maintaining this level of excellence year after year.”

The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is the summarization of the City's financial activity for the previous fiscal year. The Report is prepared by December of each year. In addition to reporting financial activity, the report also includes a summary of significant milestones accomplished during the year by department, fiscal policies, and statistical information. The City of Irvine's fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30.
