Greater Irvine Chamber Executive Vice President Jessica Welch, IOM, ACE, shared career insights with a group of early-career chamber professionals from across the Western United States during a recent Emerging Leaders webinar hosted by the Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.).
Welch discussed her own professional journey, the value of developing a personal brand, and how to nurture a supportive network of colleagues.
Welch began her career in the Chamber industry in 2007 with the Greater Irvine Chamber as Executive Assistant to the President & CEO and rose through the ranks to align with her responsibilities and impact. On her 15th anniversary with the Greater Irvine Chamber, Welch was promoted to Executive Vice President by a board-appointed review committee. Additionally, she serves as Executive Director of the Chamber’s Irvine Forward Foundation. Welch is a regular presenter and speaker at Greater Irvine Chamber and chamber industry events.
Welch serves on the board of the W.A.C.E., its Foundation, and the W.A.C.E. Academy Steering Committee. She graduated from the Academy in 2016 and now teaches in that program. In 2019, she was honored with the W.A.C.E. Gerald W. Hathaway award and the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives 40 Under 40 award. Last year, she was invited and accepted into CHIEF, an exclusive membership network focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders. She is an Accredited Chamber Executive and a U.S. Chamber West Institute for Organization Management graduate.
Welch spearheaded the effort that earned the Greater Irvine Chamber a five-star accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce—a designation that less than 2% of chambers in the country hold.
Welch returns as master of ceremonies for the 2023 Greater Irvine Chamber 40 Under 40 event on Thursday, Sept. 21, 5 - 8 p.m., at the Westin South Coast Plaza, 686 Anton Blvd., Costa Mesa. She will present awards to the 40 honorees alongside Antis Roofing & Waterproofing Founder & CEO Charles Antis.
