Scott Sherman, executive vice president of Human Resources for Ingram Micro, will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural Exemplars in Leadership event, hosted by the Greater Irvine Chamber on Thursday, Sept. 4, 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.
Sherman’s keynote address at Exemplars in Leadership will focus on the event's theme: What sets exceptional leaders apart—when they’re working in the same environment, playing by the same rules, and with the same resources as everyone else?
Sherman is a global human resources and business leader with deep compensation, benefits and HR Operations leadership experience. He has a successful track record of leading complex business initiatives, driving functional and operational excellence, and building strong collaborative relationships.
At Ingram Micro Sherman leads the identification, development and implementation of the company's human resources strategies in support of the organization's global objectives. He oversees all aspects of human resources worldwide, including organization development and talent management, compensation and benefits, payroll, and learning and development, as well as the human resources information systems and the corporate communications teams.
Prior to joining Ingram Micro in 2015, Sherman served as executive vice president of human resources and a member of the executive committee at Allergan. While in that role, he oversaw the global rewards programs, succession and talent development and planning, and significantly supported the organization’s global expansion.
Before Allergan, Sherman worked at Medtronic, which he joined as human resources manager, U.S. cardiovascular sales and marketing. During his 15-year tenure, he held positions of increasing scope and responsibility, the last as vice president of Global Total Rewards and HR Operations, Corporate Staff. Earlier in his career, he worked for Exxon Company U.S.A., Fuel Products Marketing in various HR roles and as a territory manager.
Sherman holds a Master of Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with concentrations in International Economics and Labor Studies from the George Washington University School of Public and International Affairs. He was recognized with the 2014 National Human Resources Association Executive of the Year award in Orange County.
