As it embarks on its 45th year of serving the interests of greater Irvine businesses, the Greater Irvine Chamber marked the milestone with its inaugural Annual Members’ Meeting on May 1 at the Chamber office. Interim President & CEO Dave Coffaro took the opportunity to delve into the Chamber's early days, sharing about its establishment in May 1979 with a modest 12 charter members.
Looking to the future, Coffaro highlighted Greater Irvine Chamber members, the accomplishments made possible by their partnership, and new programming initiated in response to member input. He also revealed the winning Greater Irvine Chamber 45th Anniversary logo— created by Main Street Marketing Partners through a design contest.
Coffaro and Irvine Mayor Farrah N. Khan recognized three outstanding Chamber members who have made significant contributions to the Chamber, their fellow members, and the business community:
- Member of the Year – Joe Alvarez, founder, Cybersecurity & Cost Management Group
- Ambassador of the Year – Helen Woo, regional vice president, Business Link Solutions
- Rainmaker of the Year – Vismay Shah, CEO, Cube Accounting Solutions
The success of the event was made possible through the generosity of in-kind sponsors, The Printery, ProForma Element 7, The Corner Bakery, Chapman University, Cox, Irvine Company, Staybridge Suites John Wayne Airport, and UCI Health.
