Kaiser Permanente has named Joseph Tolentino as the new chief operating officer for the Orange County Service Area.
As COO effective April 2, Tolentino will have executive oversight over functions that include Utilization Management, Operations Support Services, Facilities Management, Continuing Care Services, Surgical service lines and several other operational areas. Additionally, he will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Anaheim and Irvine Medical Centers.
Kaiser Permanente, the nation’s largest not-for-profit integrated health delivery system, serves more than 600,000 members in Orange County.
“Joseph will help strengthen Kaiser Permanente’s position as a leading provider of high-quality and compassionate health care services in Orange County,” said Payman Roshan, senior vice president and area manager. “Under his leadership, he will also play a critical role in making sure our members’ high expectations of us meeting and exceeding their care needs are being met.”
With more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry, Tolentino began his career journey as a registered nurse in Critical Care and also gained experience in Dialysis and Case Management. His career with Kaiser Permanente Orange County spans 16 years, starting as a registered nurse case manager.
Tolentino’s positive, collaborative, service-oriented leadership style has led to improved outcomes for patients and members, and improved culture and performance for the organization. He is committed to delivering high quality-care to Kaiser Permanente Orange County members and patients.
Tolentino earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Long Beach; his Master in Business Administration from Biola University; and his Doctorate in Nursing Practice from California Baptist University.
During his time away from work, Tolentino enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
