UCI Health Purchases GenesisCare Radiation Oncology Centers

UCI Health is pleased to announce it has acquired GenesisCare radiation oncology centers in Orange County. GenesisCare, a global cancer service provider, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

UCI Health, Orange County’s only academic health system, has contacted existing patients at the GenesisCare centers in Fountain Valley and Anaheim to assure them of a seamless transition of their care.

Lefteris. “We are pleased to be able to continue offering radiation oncology care to these patients with the expertise and experience of our excellent radiation oncology experts.”

The Fountain Valley location will be renamed UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center – Fountain Valley and is a key part of UCI Health plans to expand access to specialty cancer services across Orange County.

The UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center based in Orange County and features a full range of cancer specialty care at its location city of Orange, including radiation oncology.

Next year, UCI Health will more than triple the size of its cancer services when it opens the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and Ambulatory Care facility at the UCI Health ― Irvine medical campus, located on the corner of Jamboree Road and Campus Drive. The complex will feature state of-the art radiation oncology services, an expansive infusion center, eight outpatient operating rooms and 52 private exam rooms.  It is also the future home of Orange County’s only adult hematopoietic stem cell/bone marrow transplant program.
